Ashley has brought his vision to campaigns for Procter & Gamble and Day'O Productions featuring supermodel Miranda Kerr, as well as branded content for T-Sphere Athletics. He collaborated with director Alan Brown and visual artist Simone Vega on a series of site-specific works and digital projects. His stage works include Greensboro Opera’s Porgy and Bess featuring Grammy Award winner Rhiannon Giddens. As an associate choreographer he worked with three-time Tony Award winner Hinton Battle on a range of theatrical and commercial projects produced by Yoshimoto Entertainment.
In the world of concert dance his work has been commissioned by Charlotte Ballet II (in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution), Limón II, the NYC-based Flight Path Dance Project, University of NC School of Arts, Chapman University and Elon University. He's presented work at the Peridance Salvatore Capezio Theater in New York City and at the Reverb and White Wave International Dance Festivals, Capezio Ace Awards, and Dance for Life Festival in Los Angeles.
He is the co-founder of GXA Creative, a choreography team formed with longtime collaborator Grady Bowman. Together, they create visually striking, concept-driven work for stage, screen, and live performance. Their dance films - DWELLING, NEXT, and The Way Back - have been official selections at festivals such as BronzeLens, Dance Camera West, Opine and Dance Camera North, and featured on DanceFilmmaking.com and in Dance Magazine.
Drawing from a nearly two decade performing career in New York City - with international acclaimed companies like the Limón Dance Company and Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, and appearances in national commercials (Target, ESPN, Miller Lite), New York Fashion Week, and the feature film Bolden. His work bridges technical precision with emotional depth, translating seamlessly to commercial brands and cinematic storytelling.
A passionate educator and mentor, Ashley brings a student-centered approach to dance education, working with dancers across university, conservatory, and professional settings. He spent seven years as Artistic Director of the UNCSA Classical Ballet and Contemporary Intensives, where he launched Dance Connection Now. Most recently, he completed a two-year residency as Visiting Professor at UNCSA, earning a nomination for the Teaching Excellence Award.
Additional teaching credits include Escuela Superior de Danza Sinaloa, The Limón Foundation, Steps on Broadway, Kanyok Arts Initiative, and international workshops in Japan, Mexico, Bermuda, and China.
A proud graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Ashley credits his conservatory training with shaping his creative voice and honing his versatility in crafting movement across stage, screen, and commercial platforms.
