Ashley Lindsey — portrait in a black turtleneck

BIO

Ashley Lindsey is the Artistic Director of Limón II Dance Company and Director of Education at The Limón Institute. He’s an award-winning director, choreographer, and teaching artist making movement design for screen, stage, and brands. With a career spanning more than two decades, he has built a body of work that defies a single genre, work that is precise in its craft, cinematic in its vision, and built to resonate.

He works from one idea: movement does more than shape a performance, it sets the visual and emotional language of a whole project. On camera, on stage, or at a live event, the aim is the same. Build a physical language that makes the work feel specific, alive, and true. Movement shifts perspective, pushes the story forward, and says what words can’t.

You can see it across the dance films EN/ORDER, Dwelling, and The Way Back. In movement direction for global Procter & Gamble campaigns with Miranda Kerr. In Doll and Chromatic with directing duo Tender Attack. And in Porgy and Bess for Greensboro Opera, featuring Grammy winner Rhiannon Giddens.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and former soloist with the Limón Dance Company, Ashley’s perspective is shaped by a career spanning both concert dance and the commercial industry. His commissioned work includes projects for Limón II, Charlotte Ballet II, Flight Path Dance Project, Chapman University, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Drawing from those experiences, he brings a refined approach and a natural instinct for movement and staging.
