BIO
Ashley Lindsey is an award-winning director, choreographer, and teaching artist creating movement-driven work across film, television, stage, and global brands. With a career spanning more than two decades, he has built a body of work that defies a single genre—work that is precise in its craft, cinematic in its vision, and built to resonate.
His work is grounded in a belief that movement can do more than shape performance—it can define the visual and emotional language of an entire project. Whether directing for the camera or creating for the stage or a live event, the goal remains the same: to create a physical language that makes a project feel specific, authentic, and alive. Movement becomes a way to shift perspective, propel a story forward, serve the greater vision of the client, and communicate what words cannot.
That approach can be seen across the dance films EN/ORDER, Dwelling, and The Way Back; movement direction for global Procter & Gamble campaigns featuring Miranda Kerr; collaborations with directing duo Tender Attack on Doll and Chromatic; and Porgy and Bess for Greensboro Opera, featuring Grammy Award winner Rhiannon Giddens.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and former soloist with the Limón Dance Company, Ashley’s perspective is shaped by a career spanning both concert dance and the commercial industry. His commissioned work includes projects for Limón II, Charlotte Ballet II, Flight Path Dance Project, Chapman University, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Drawing from those experiences, he brings a refined approach and a natural instinct for movement and staging.
